Peskov: Arrests of Russian assets in EU illegal, Russia to fight

MOSCOW, Mar 10 (PRIME) -- Arrests and seizures of Russia’s assets in the E.U. are illegal, Moscow will fight with it, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Friday, when media reported that the E.U. was struggling to find and seize the bulk of Russian assets, and that assets worth around 21 billion euros had been seized as of recently.

“These problems are for the Europeans to solve. We don’t acknowledge any of these seizures and we see them nothing other than violation of international legislation and infringement on private and public property, infringement on the basics of international economy. This is illegitimate and illegal, and we will fight it,” Peskov said in response.
